What is a Domain Name?
Domain Names are unique identifiers that allow a website, or other Internet resource, to be found. You can think of your domain name as your website's name, the ".com" or ".net" where your art can be found. This website's domain name is websites4artists.net, and is unique.
Since there can't be two different websites with the same name, there is a complex registration system to keep track of them. We include the cost of this in our monthly charges, so you never get an extra bill to keep your registration active.
Unfortunately, millions of domain names are already registered, so it can be a challenge to find a new domain name. We take care of that for you, offering a selection of possibilities for you to choose from.
If you have already registered a domain name that you like, or maybe you even have an old website, let us know. If the services are current and paid up, they can often be transferred to our system at no extra charge.
